Casa Cook Opening – Boutique Family Hotel – El Gouna Red Sea
Boutique Family Hotel Casa Cook Opens in El Gouna
With a unique offering to all families hoping to get away from their day-to-day madness, award-winning Casa Cook is finally opening on November 1st this year, marking yet another addition to El Gouna’s family hotel holiday specials.
With much anticipation and especially after the opening of their sister hotel Cook’s Club, we have spoken again to Remo Masala, Thomas Cook’s Chief Marketing Officer to dig deeper into the design dynamics and what makes Casa Cook as special as it is worldwide.
Q: Looking at Casa Cook’s pictures is like stepping into a world where the soul is simply earthed. What gives Casa Cook this instant feeling of being connected to one’s roots of zen without even physically being there yet?
A: That’s a secret we won’t share! We always try to anticipate a destination narrative before we open the hotel. Casa Cook is the summary of thousands of thoughts, experiences of the brand makers and the beauty the world offers.
Q: Every one of your Casa Cook hotels is unique to its destination yet boasts the familiarity of the brand, making your hotels “fit seamlessly together, but never the same” as mentioned on your website, how did you succeed in offering this sense of individual familiarity?
A: When we build a Casa Cook we don’t stick to hotel standards like other hotels usually brands do. We respect the energy of the place, the heritage of the area and translate this with our design language into a sanctuary; a peaceful place.
Q: Who chooses to stay at Casa Cook?
A: Mainly people who want to get away from a “bling-bling” world during their holidays. Guests appreciate our attitude towards space design as well as our simple but high-quality food. We often get people in the creative business or simply guests with a postmodern style enjoying a laid-back beach life to balance out their stressful career lives.
Q: What makes Casa Cook El Gouna a special choice?
Creating a Casa Cook in the desert was a great challenge for us; I think the result is another amazing retreat in the Casa Cook Collection. Most of the furniture is handmade by Egyptian craftsmen embedded in a modernistic village using natural colors and materials representing a kind of modern Egypt. Or as we call it desert luxe!
Q: How would a family spend their day at Casa Cook?
A: At Casa Cook Kids Club, we stay away from the typical waterslides and plastic toy options; it’s not about just keeping the kids busy doing anything. We offer more of an educational, experimental and Montessori-inspired day for the kids while parents can enjoy their lovely rooms, the spa or sport facilities at the hotel. All facilities are very close to each other and the center of the hotel is the pool with the beach bar.
Q: You aim to offer a friendly atmosphere and state that people would feel they’re at a “friend’s home”, is this the inspiration behind the name?
A: All room types are spacious and designed like you would own a place at the beach, or friends have invited you to stay at their home on the beach. The restaurant is basically an open space where it feels more like you are going to the kitchen to grab some food and sit on a community table and chat with others.
Q: What are Casa Cook’s brand ethos and how would they be experienced on its premises?
A: At the heart of our brand stays the ancient word “parea” meaning a kind of togetherness or friendship with people you like to share ideas, stories and simply celebrate life with. The hotel has the right balance between privacy and places to meet new people. The menu offers a lot of food options to share with others, like meze, and all tables are designed in a way where guests can easily put them together making one large table. All in all we think Casa Cook shouldn’t feel like a hotel; It´s more of an understatement proving that simple things in life can make the difference.
While you’re at Casa Cook El Gouna, you really do not want to miss a day well spent at their gym and spa; whether you want to kick back and just enjoy their sauna or book a massage, and maybe you would want some extra pampering at their ‘hammam’. Their outdoor yoga shala will boast quite the view with the serene red sea backdrop with every breath you take as you flow in class.
There’s a special kick for the ones who want to add some water sports action to their relaxing holiday; Duotone Pro Center located right on the Casa Cook El Gouna beach offers sessions for those already comfortable on their boards and for whoever would like to start learning all about it. If you would rather enjoy some SUP while the wind is low, there’s plenty in store for you as well.
With 100 rooms of incredibly detailed designs, you can choose to stay in a standard room or a villa with your very own private swimming pool; book for bed and breakfast or a half-board stay and enjoy all the coziness Casa Cook El Gouna has to offer. She always had the dream to live by the sea, and in 2014 that dream became a beautiful reality when Hadeel and her husband started their life together as a married couple in El Gouna. In love with her surroundings and inspired by the town’s community living, Hadeel picked up her pen again and started writing for El Gouna magazine, her own series of short stories, and now for Orascom Hotels blog.
Hadeel El Deeb graduated in 2004 from the American University in Cairo with a BA in Broadcast Journalism and has been working in Public Relations since then. She has experience working with hotels, law firms, luxury brands, music talents, and had started her own online magazine in 2013.
El Gouna has a very special place in Hadeel’s heart; it is where she first met her husband in 2009, started a life together five years after, watched her baby take her first steps in 2018, and where she learned a whole new side about herself with the new found love of water sports.
In April 2019, Hadeel and her husband left El Gouna to start a new adventure with their toddler in Muscat, Oman where she will continue to write and work on her first book to be published in the near future.
