EL GOUNA WELCOMES FIFA’S GOLDEN TROPHY
FIFA World Trophy Tour in Egypt
The weather has been warming up recently, but Orascom and Coca Cola just made the Red Sea even hotter!
Last Thursday, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour rocked El Gouna and people just couldn’t get enough!
On its 4th tour, before FIFA’s most anticipated global football competition, the golden cup in all its glory takes a trip around the world and Egypt welcomed its visit in true Soccertastic style.
This is the 3rd time Egypt hosts the 88 year old 6.1KG solid gold trophy and Egyptians haven’t been this excited since the Pharaohs qualified for the World Cup. The shining globetrotter entered the gates of El Gouna in true VIP style, parading through the streets amidst heavy security and cheering footie fans, until it reached its eagerly anticipating audience at Abu Tig Marina.
The Red Sea Resort community cued to take pictures with the FIFA trophy as it shone under the sun. Pictures were strictly allowed only between the hours of 4 – 6 and the crowds reveled in this unique opportunity to enjoy such an exhibit!
France’s international football star Christian Karembeu was there to unveil the cup and enjoyed the roaring enthusiasm of all those gathered at Abu Tig Marina, as he walked around holding the trophy.
Karembeu, Tamer Hosny at the VIP’s Gala Dinner
Following the spectacle, select VIP guests and members of the community attended Coca Cola’s private gala dinner. Guests enjoyed a spectacular experience; dining in El Gouna and celebrating the trophy’s iconic visit with Egypt’s star Tamer Hosny igniting an unforgettable, live performance of the official FIFA World Cup sponsored by Coca Cola.
One thing’s for sure, the Red Sea knows how to party! Here’s hoping that Egypt throws another huge bash if we manage to carve our country’s name at the trophy’s base!
